Where is Meerendal?
Meerendal is located 20 minutes outside Cape Town in the Durbanville area. Our address is Meerendal Wine Estate, R48 Vissershok Road, Durbanville, Cape Town, 7551.

What is the Meerendal Wine Club and why should I apply for it?
The Meerendal Wine Club gives you a more personal relationship with Meerendal Wine Estate with members benefitting from a discount on all future wine purchases and hotel reservations, invitations to special events and wine tastings as well as receiving our Meerendal Wine Club Newsletter.

Do you host events on the Estate?
Yes, we have a variety of venues that can be used. In the past we have hosted the KFM and Liefde by die Dam music festivals, the ABSA Cape Epic Prologue and Grand Finale, Weekly Park Run, along with being a wedding and conferencing venue. Wine Sales

Where can I buy your wine? 
In addition to our online store, you can buy our wines on the wine estate at the wine tasting room.

Do you sell wines outside South Africa?
Yes, most of our wines are exported all over the world. You can contact our tasting room at tasting@meerendal.co.za for an agent near you.

Do you want to become an international agent for Meerendal wines?
Please contact our international sales department at exports@meerendal.co.za for more information.

Hotel 

What has your Hotel done to protect guests from the coronavirus?
Stringent, additional sanitizing of room surfaces has been implemented. The health of all Meerendal Estate staff is monitored daily and very strict measures are in place. Contact upon arrival has been minimised with documentation to be done prior to arrival.

Will your restaurant on site be open for dinner?
Yes, one of the restaurants will be open 7 nights a week.

What happens if I only arrive at 10PM?
No problem at all, your keys will be available at the entrance gate.

When is your reservations department available?
The reservationist will be available from 06:30 until 19:30 in the evenings from Monday to Sunday.

Are the running and cycling trails available to Hotel residents?
Yes, with pleasure! The use of the running and cycling trails are complementary to Hotel guests.


Restaurant and dining

Carlucci's

Do you have large open areas and lawns for kids?
We have huge lawns and the funnest jungle gym in Durbanville with plenty of space to stretch their legs. 

Are you vegan and vegetarian friendly?
Yes, we cater for vegans and vegetarians as well as any special dietary needs. We are Halaal friendly as well.

What type of foods can we expect at Carlucci's?
We offer a variety of foods including wood fired pizza's,  sushi, kids menus, Build your own picnic basket, freshly baked goods. 

IL Tesoro

Does IL Tesoro carer for small intimate  weddings and functions?
Yes, we can cater for up to 50 guests at our venue. We have our own Gin bar and deck with views over the valley. 

Is your restaurant child friendly?
Children older than 14 are allowed when accompanied by an adult, however Carlucci's can cater for younger children.

Can we bring our own wine?
Unfortunately not. Meerendal has a vast wine list with some very special vintages available only at IL Tesoro - award winning wines that will definitely cover all taste preferences. 

What type of foods can we expect at IL Tesoro?
Ethically and locally sourced produce from the surrounding farms. Authentic Italian style dishes including Wild Boar can also be expected.

Who can apply for the course?
The course is aimed at giving you an introduction to the whole wine making process from the vineyard to the cellar to the bottle. Anyone can apply for the course whether you know a lot about wine or are just interested. Previous volunteers included students interested in wine making, wine sale reps wanting to sharpen their knowledge to some casual people just curious to learn something new.

Trails

What are the opening times of the trails?
The trails open Tuesdays to Sundays year-round. During summer (1 September – 30 April) the trails open at sunrise and close at 18:30 whilst in winter (1 May – 31 August) the trails open at sunrise and close at 18:00.

*Any person that does not qualify for either Junior (persons under the age of 18 years), Student (less than 25 years with valid student card) or Pensioner (60 years +) are Main Members.

How many running and MTB trails does Meerendal have?

- Running trails 
  3 routes available, total distance of all trails are 9km 
- MTB trails
  3 routes (Yellow – 5 km, Green – 10.5 km, Blue – 17.8 km)
