MEERENDAL SAUVIGNON BLANC
VINTAGE: 2015
ORIGIN: Durbanville.
CLIMATE: Mediterranean climate with warm, dry, summers with a unique pattern of cool winds. Winters are cold and wet with an annual rainfall on the estate of a mere 550mm.
SOIL: Tukulu
VINIFICATION: Grapes were handpicked at 22.5 °Balling from a yield of 13 Ton/Ha. A combination of two blocks were used, planted in 2005 and 2007.Grapes was picked early morning to ensure that it was cold enough for its 12 hour skin contact. The skin contact extracted all the beautiful flavors so typical of this cultivar. After skin contact it cold fermented for 14 days. It was left on its fine lees for two months to further enhance the flavors.

Residual sugar: 4.3 g/l.
Total acidity: 5.9 g/l.
pH: 3.38
DESCRIPTION: The wine has tropical aromas and whiffs of green pepper and fynbos, with a flintiness and an attractive minerality, complemented by some gooseberry tones. It shows a refreshing and crisp aftertaste, with a delicious and rich mouthfeel.
FOOD SUGGESTION: Serve with seafood, pastas and salads.
